HOW OUR BEEF SHARES WORK

Our Beef Shares include three bundle options, all at premium quality and exceptional value. We offer 3 size shares, which include a 1/4 Share, a 1⁄2 Share, and a Whole Share.

Orders can be placed through our website, via email, or by phone.

Beef shares are priced at $6.75 per pound for all share sizes - hanging weight. This is the weight of the butchered animal as it hangs in the locker to dry age. This weight does not include the head, hide, hooves, blood and innards, which have been removed. The total cost of your share will depend on the final weight of the cow.

You are not charged by the boxed weight. This is the net weight of the meat you will receive that is packaged and ready for your freezer. The reduced weight here is attributed to the cutting and trimming of fat, connective tissue, bone, etc., as well as moisture lost during the dry aging process. This weight varies dependent upon the cuts of meat chosen and any additional package options, e.g. bones, fat and offal. We will use a generic price per pound on all the cuts when packaged so that our label printer will print the name of the cut, weight, and date of packaging.

Depending on what size share you are interested in, there is a deposit required on all orders. Deposit costs are as follows:

1/4 Share $100
1⁄2 Share $150
Whole Share - $200

Deposits are non-refundable. A beef share is a large investment, on your part and on ours. Having a non-refundable deposit reflects our commitment to each other.

All costs are included: USDA butchering and packaging. Your beef is cut according to your custom cutting order, vacuum sealed and frozen to assure it's perfect for your table.

The meat is priced by the pound based on it's hanging weight. Hanging weight refers to how heavy the animal is when it is hanging in the processor's cold storage area before cutting. Depending on the options you pick on our cut sheet, 50-65 of the hanging weight is usable meat, bones, and parts. So, your loss will be anywhere from 35-50% of the hanging weight depending on your selections. We recommend opting to include bones, and any desired organ meat to decrease your potential loss.

Let's say you decide to buy a quarter cow and the hanging weight is 175 pounds. This means you'll need to pay $1181.25, at $6.75 per pound, and will receive 87-113 pounds of usable meat from a quarter cow. As a rule of thumb, every 1/4 cow will cost about $1,180 and is subject to change based on weight.

A quarter share of beef will take up about 4 cubic feet of freezer space (most of a standard, fridge/freezer combo, or a little over half of a chest freezer).
Room needed in your freezer for: 1/4 beef = 3-4 cubit feet (Should fit in a top freezer of a kitchen refrigerator. It will be full, but it will fit!)
1/2 beef = 7-8 cubit feet
Whole share of beef = 15-16 cubic feet

Once we receive your deposit, we will give you a proximate timeframe as to when you'll receive your share. Farm stand pickup only, sorry no deliveries.

Please Note: Due to rising costs to raise the cows and take care of them until they mature, prices are subject to change.
